Pei Wei recently invited a group of food bloggers to a communial-style lunch to try out their new $5 lunch menu items. It was also an opportunity to talk shop with other talented food bloggers, and let the magic of food turn strangers into fast friends. Here is what was on the menu.

Pineapple, red bell peppers, snap peas and fresh ginger, wok-tossed in Pei Wei's classic sweet and sour sauce.

White meat chicken, garlic and scallions, wok-seared in a chile soy sauce, served over steamed noodles and finished with steamed bean sprouts and fresh julienne cucumbers.

Premium Pacific Krab, mango, cucumbers and scallions, hand-rolled in premium sushi rice and topped with toasted sesame seeds.

Red bell peppers, bean sprouts and scallions, wok-fired in a sweet and spicy Korean bulgogi sauce.

Thai basil, scallions, red bell peppers and julienne carrots, wok-fired in a Sriracha chile soy sauce and topped with a fresh lime wedge.

We had a pretty impressive spread as you can see. Each small entree is served with either white or brown rice, and for those of you watching the carbs, there is a lettuce cup or salad option. They also have other healthy menu offerings which include lettuce wraps, salads, sushi, quinoa bowls, and Wok classics that can be customized. They even have gluten-free and vegetarian options. The crowd pleaser seemed to be the Korean Spicy because we all love a little heat, but the Sweet and Sour was also jam-packed with flavor and layered crunch from the pineapple and peas.

I'll definitely be back for the Korean Spicy and the Mango California Roll. For only $5 you can justify trying them all on your next lunch break. Click here to find a location near you.
