Seventeen More Pounds To Go
I started the year at 158lbs, and as of today I weight......(drum roll please)..... 155lbs! With my new work schedule I haven't been to the gym, but I credit my weight loss to my diet. When I say diet I don't mean it like a bad 4-letter word diet, I mean the what I eat. I have a bad habit of undereating, and that's something I have vowed to get a handle on in the new year. I am the worst at forgetting to eat, or losing interest in eating mid-bite. Seriously I've been hungry but too lazy to chew and just decide to have a latte instead of lunch. No bueno. I have to sneak food in wherever I can, which means I have to be prepared. Here are some of the meals I've been making that I credit to my recent progress.
Although I do enjoy eating clean, I am human and hate to feel deprived. Honestly though, if you eat well 80% of the time or better, you don't need to count calories. Think about it, when was the last time you couldn't fit into your jeans from over indulging on a salad? I do however watch the frequency with which I eat and drink anything loaded with sugar, salt, or processed crap. So while I casually eat whatever I want as long as I made it with wellness in mind, I do enjoy food and drinks like the ones below in moderation.
I pretty much drink my empty calories, so I always watch my food intake on those days. Long term success on any fitness program depends on your ability to be consistent. I can't consistently never have a drink anymore than I can consistently only eat veggies and salmon every week. So far I think I'm on the right track, but we shall see when I weight myself in another 2 weeks. In the meantime the plan is to start hitting the weights again and add yoga and Pilates into my regimen for balance and flexibility.
