Off Track and On Point

We are now 69 days into the year and it's time to reflect back on my weight loss progress. Well like most people I started off strong, and then life happens and it becomes a fight to finish strong. I have taken on the challenge of running a business, managing a blog, and oh ya know trying to loss weight and pick up my superwoman cape from the cleansers. It's a lot to take on and the scales are constantly tipping. One week I might be on time sending out newsletter updates and blogging but I haven't worked out in 3 days. Some weeks I'm working out and eating right, but have writer's block and no motivation to work. People that haven't seen me in a while say I look thinner but my weight hasn't budged in a month. Nonetheless here is a peak into what I have been doing to not fall completely off track.

Everything you see here was purchased at the Urban Harvest Farmers Market.

Exercise is important but diet is even more important. You eat far more often than you workout so on weeks were I was less active I made sure to eat even cleaner. To keep me honest I love shopping at the Urban Harvest Farmers Market on Saturdays. We've had two hangouts this year and so far you ladies love it, so we'll see about making this a monthly thing. I love to cook and this market has so may fun, colorful, unique ingredients that I get excited to experiment when I get home, which keeps me from getting bored with my diet.

Whole wheat high fiber/protein pasta with fresh basil, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, shrimp, olive tapanade, and olive oil.

Rainbow radish, sprouts, romaine lettuce, and floral accents. The flowers don't taste like anything so I look forward to trying them in other dishes.

My experiments! I love tea but I have started playing with roots and herbs. One of my favorite drinks so far is made with ginger, lemon, honey, and turmeric. Turmeric and ginger have anti-inflammatory effects which is why I use them. I am trying to maintain a diet that is alkaline, anti-inflammatory and foods high in oxygen ( veggies) to increase my blood oxygen levels and boost energy. I also decided to get adventurous with seafood and tried these little critters called Whelks. I was looking for something similar to escargot, which these are not, but it was worth a try.

I walk pretty much every day ( I hate running and it hates me), but it is the one constant in my workout routine.
