Main Kitchen 806

I had the supreme honor of attended a tasting at Main Kitchen 806 located downtown at JW Marriott off Main Street. The chefs of Main Kitchen draw inspiration from local flavors and ingredients, and also partner with others producers in the community that share in their commitment to quality, sustainability, and responsible farming. Their menu changes with the seasons and features fresh, locally grown produce. Everything that you're about to see here is made possible by Executive Chef Jelle Vandenbroucke’s classical European training, and the skills and imagination of Pasty Chef Tina Blanco. Here is what was on the menu.

Fresh Juices

The Griffin - Pineapple, Carrot, Ginger

The Texan- Watermelon, Grapefruit, Canteloupe, Jalapenos

We had an incredible assortment of cocktails that came along with the tasting. Starting with champagne and dragonfruit and ending with a Texas style mule, the drinks were just as exquisite, flavorful, and spectacular as the food.

Now this picture right here is what made me want to create an entirely separate blog post just to spotlight the desserts. The stunningly talented and creative mind behind this assortment of art is Pastry Chef Tina Blanco. The Chef came to identify and describe the food porn in front of us, but I just couldn't take my eyes off of the presentation. I swear everything and everyone in the room disappeared and I was dumbfounded, in awe, and in love with what I was seeing. You're looking at banana pudding, carrot cake, chocolate creations, and matcha tiramasu. But wait....there's more...

Main Kitchen Pops 2.jpg

Lemon Sorbet Popsicle

Coconut Snow, Blueberry Compote, Angel Food Cake Lemon Curd

I say this without exaggeration or outside influence - this was by far the most fascinating, artistic, and impressive tasting that I have attended in all of 2017. Words and even these photos worth a thousand words fall short of the thousands more needed to explain this culinary experience. I would go back and order everything on the menu all over again, and would probably attempt to try the entire menu before it changes to accommodate new seasonal items. I highly recommend that you make Main Kitchen 806 the destination for your next foodie destination. You will not be disappointed.
