Happy Healthy Hour
For our first event of the year I decided to host Healthy Happy Hour at HS Green. Typically when we think of happy hour it's a given that a copious amount of empty calories will be consumed, but I didn't want to plan a junk food binge one week and a group workout the next, so HS Green was a perfect match. I was introduced to this restaurant a few months ago, and loved the quality of the food and healthy options. I'm very much a health nut but completely understand that not everyone's palate craves kale and green juice, so it's nice to find a restaurant that can be provide both quality food options and flavor. HS Green is known for dishes made from scratch using fresh ingredients for a mix of clean eating, and guilt-free indulgence.
Our Healthy Happy Hour was held on a Thursday night, and despite Houston traffic and all the other unexpected challenges that life throws our way, 45 women managed to make it out to the event. I saw some old familiar faces that I haven't seen it what feels like forever, and plenty of gorgeous new faces that I was excited to meet.
We were treated to items off the happy hour menu (which is very generous by the way) along with a complimentary wine or beer. Here's a look at what was on the menu.
Happy Hour Selection for the Evening
Asian Fusion Chicken
Spinach Artichoke Dip
Truffle-infused Mushroom and Chicken Pizza
Hummus & Flat Bread
Selection of 3 cheeses, fruit, nuts, served with baked thin flatbread
HUMMUS & FLAT BREAD
House made with baked thin flatbread
ASIAN FUSION CHICKEN
Served with peanut sauce, pineapple and cilantro
Although not part of the Happy Hour menu, these are some of the other delicious dishes that I've tried. The duck pizza is the stuff that dreams are made of.
THAI GRILLED SHRIMP WRAP
Grilled shrimp, kelp noodles, watercress, cucumbers with Thai sweet chili dressing
CRISPY DUCK FONTINA
Garlic white sauce, spinach, caramelized onions and mozzarella
SHRIMP TRUFFLE MAC AND CHEESE
Quarter chicken served with lemon garlic herb oil, herb roasted potatoes, roasted asparagus, and cherry tomatoes
I highly recommend anyone try HS Green for lunch, happy hour, or dinner. The food is great, the prices are more than fair and they also offer coffee drinks, wine, beer, and veggies juices. The offers are pretty diverse that everyone should be able to find something on the menu to love. A big thank you to HS Green for hosting us, and thank you to everyone that joined us for Happy Healthy Hour.
