Last week members of the Houston Food Blogger Collective were invited to explore 51fifteen Cuisine and Cocktail. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of Saks Fifth Avenue, in the newly extended wing of the Galleria. The stylish earth tones of blue black, gray, and white surround the modern and ultra-chic restaurant and bar. The ceiling featured a gorgeous honeycomb style pattern, and the booths bend and curve line a wave, creating a cozy and stylish nook for diners. The Cuisine served here is described as globally inspired, yet locally focused American food curiated by Chef Pedro Silva.
Bloggers were greeted by the manager and handed a gorgeous blue tote bag filled with luxury items from Saks that were beyond generous. As the bloggers continued to arrive a piano player set the mood while we made our cocktail orders at the bar, and waited to swarm the first person we saw with a plate of food. Classic Sliders with Cheddar Cheese
Cheese Steak Eggrolls with Chipotle Lime Sauce
Calamari: Hot Cherry Peppers, Banana Peppers, Scallions, Bean Sprouts, Sesame Seeds, Peanuts, Red Chili Pepper, Sweet Chili Sauce
Shrimp Cocktail: Traditional Cocktail or Spicy Remoulade Sauce
Black Bean Empanadas with Hot Chili Sauce
Hands down my favorite food of the evening were the Cheese Steak Eggrolls. Even without the cheese topping there was so much flavor that I wasn't expecting, and couldn't stop eating. Everything we tasted had tremendous flavor. and a little bit of heat here and there which I love. Their menu includes breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner items. They also have a $7 Happy Hour Menu, Monday-Friday from 3:30pm-6:30pm.
51fifteen Cuisine & Cocktails is the perfect in loop spot for a swanky date night, girls night out, or brunch when you need to treat yo self. They also have gorgeous private dining rooms for large groups, and Bar 12, a satellite cafe and bar in the center of the 1st floor of Saks. I highly recommend that you go for the restaurants swanky style, and stay for the fabulous food.
