Culture Map Social at Boheme Cafe

September 9, 2014

Culture Map Houston hosts another great Social event. If you have never been to one of these events, you have to go. It's a great way to meet other hip fun Houstonians and enjoy free drinks and giveaways. This CultureMap Social was presented by Lexus at Boheme Cafe and Wine Bar in Midtown. The drinks were sponsored by LIQS, who is also sponsoring our Habitat for Humanity Happy Hour Sept. 19th. DJ Bizonee provided the beats, and local organizations like Blue CureSusan G. Komen Houston and Child Advocates had tables set up to spread some awareness. These events always have a clever photo booth called the Smile Booth that allows you to take animated pictures and immediately send them to your email or social media sites.  Boheme also had a fabulous spread of some of their best hor d'oeuvres included their Vietnamese Fries which are drizzled with hoisin, sriracha, garlic mayo, cilantro and crushed peanut. They were sooooo good!!!

My swag bag and Maple-Glazed Donut with bacon topping from The Doughnut Cafe. It was really good, and really big, definetly a dessert to share. My pic from the Smile Booth is actually a cute little video that I was able to send directly to our Twitter page.

I spotted local rapper Bun B and Juan Carlos from America's Got Talent across the bar posing for pictures. It took me a second to realize I was seeing people I've only seen on TV in real life.

Here is the front and back of a card that everyone got at the entrance.  This was a brilliant way to get the crowd to mix and mingle, and it worked like a charm. I could barely move 2 feet before someone, male or female, asked me what my city was or showed me their card. It's actually how I ended up talking to a lovely gentleman at the bar the whole night.
